SILK TO DOWN
Silk and Down Duvet Comparison
| Qualities |
Silk Duvet |
Down Duvet |
| |
|
|
Comfort: |
Silk is by far the most comfortable natural material next
to the skin. It is smooth, supple, soft to the touch, and
is well known for its year-round comfort. Silk duvets give
you substance without bulk. |
Does not conform to your body as well as silk. |
Breathability: |
Silk’s protein fiber is porous and breathable, and
has temperature-adjusting qualities. |
Inferior breathability, and may feel stuffy to sensitive
users. |
Warmth: |
Our cotton covering is soft and light weight and smooth
to the touch. The long-stranded silk inside has no gaps for
warmth to escape. |
Air pockets provide insulation, but provide no sensual comfort.
Often described as too hot. |
Health Effect: |
Silk is a natural protein that is suitable for all skin
types. It does not stimulate any allergies. |
The down feathers often loosen, causing nasal or skin allergies. |
